This is an example of a Board-Maker. It is an Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) tool that is specially designed to support communication for children, teenagers and adults with Autism. I came across a few videos on Youtube of a young adolescent with Autism and he uses an electronic boardmaker to communicate with his mother. I thought and might share it for you to watch it.

The picture to the right is an example of a Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Another most popular tool to use to build communication for students with Autism. In the Communication Disorders course, I learned that there are six phases of PECS and one of the phases I was introduced to was the "Physical Exchange" (Phase 1).
