Kid Blog: This engaging, educational website allows teachers to assign students to create their own educational or creative stories of their own choice. Once they've published their story online, the teacher and peers can comment on their story and provide helpful feedback. This is a new ed-tech website that I've learned at my placement so i thought i would screenshot it and share. I provided a screenshot of the website for you to take a look at.
Kahoot!: This interactive website transforms a classroom into a fun, engaging learning environment where teachers create quizzes based on a unit or a topic that the students have learned in class. Most schools today use Kahoot to activate the student's prior knowledge and to challenge their brain by encouraging themselves to partcipate in answering the questions whether using the iPads or on the laptops. At my field 3 placement, I've noticed that the teachers mostly use Kahoot to make student learning exciting, inviting and fun.
Google Classroom: This Ed-tech website is commonly used in Today's education where teachers can automatically assign homework and tasks for students to work on in a way to extend their learning at home. This is commonly known as "Flipped Learning". Instead of having students complete their assignments at school, they have the opportunity to access their class site. Teachers first notify the student via G-mail about when the assignments are due. Then, students can click on their class site and scroll down to see if their assignments are turned in late, missed, not done or complete.
Twitter: One of the most popular e-communication tools that people use in today's education. Students and educators use Twitter to communicate with other people across the world to keep in touch on the latest Educational news. Educators can also have the opportunity to join in multiple group chats with different educators. For example, one educator join in on a group chat to discuss upon the 21st Century Learning for students. I screenshotted the homepage of Twitter as an example.
Pinterest: This helpfu ed-tech website is used for educators and students to pin or "bookmark" ideas and collections of educational materials in the classroom. It is incredibly useful for educators who would like to create inspiring activities for students. The screenshot to the right is an example of my collection on assistive technology and Ed-tech tools.
